CA Course Overview 2025
The CA course in India is regulated by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India ICAI and involves three key stages:
CA Foundation
CA Intermediate
CA Final
Eligibility Criteria 2025
CA Foundation Route for Class 12 Students
Must have passed Class 12 any stream from a recognized board
Must register with ICAI after appearing in Class 12 exams
Eligible to write Foundation exam after four months of study period
Direct Entry Route for Graduates or Postgraduates
Commerce graduates with 55 percent marks or more
Non-commerce graduates with 60 percent marks or more
Bypasses Foundation level and enters directly into CA Intermediate
Course Duration Minimum Time Frame
Level - Duration
Foundation - 4 months study and results
Intermediate - 8 months study and results
Articleship - 2 years reduced from 3 years under new scheme
Final - After completing 6 months of articleship and clearing Intermediate
Total Minimum Duration approximately 4.5 to 5 years
